What is OKAPI Mash Grain-Free Stomach Comfort?
Mash has a long tradition in horse feeding and was already used by our great-grandparents in certain situations. For example, it was given to horses recovering from serious illness, such as colic. Although a horse might have survived the colic itself, it could sometimes be too exhausted afterwards to start eating normally again.
Mash was also traditionally given as a precaution to horses prone to colic, for example during sudden changes in the weather. Horses pushed to the point of extreme exhaustion, such as during wartime, were also given mash. Traditionally, mash was therefore often prepared at times of severe physical stress.
OKAPI Mash Grain-Free Stomach Comfort has been specially developed as a grain-free feed for horses with sensitive digestion. Changes in the weather, hot and humid conditions or stress can all place additional demands on the digestive system. This mash provides natural support for digestion while remaining completely grain-free.

OKAPI Mash Grain-Free Stomach Comfort can be fed daily as needed. For horses with sensitive digestion, or during more demanding periods such as changes in the weather or intensive training, it can be included in the ration for a longer period.
During particularly demanding phases it can be fed daily, while at quieter times feeding can be reduced to two or three times a week.
How should I prepare OKAPI Mash Grain-Free Stomach Comfort?
Preparation is simple. Add around 350 g to a feed bucket and pour over approximately 1 litre of warm water.
Leave the mash to soak for 15–20 minutes. Once it has cooled to a lukewarm temperature, it is ready to feed.
Always make sure the mash has fully soaked and expanded before feeding.
