HeparKPU forte is based on a herbal blend that can support the balance of the horse’s natural gut environment. Additionally, it provides highly bioavailable micronutrients for the metabolism, particularly vitamins B6, B12, and the minerals zinc and sulfur. This supports the natural biotransformation of liver cells, physiological blood formation, and relieves the mineral balance. Overall, when combined with appropriate care and nutrition, it can contribute to the overall positive development of the horse’s appearance. It can be fed alongside horses with KPU.

HeparKPU forte is suitable for horses that need support in balancing their natural gut environment. It is particularly beneficial for horses that require highly bioavailable micronutrients such as vitamins B6 and B12, as well as minerals like zinc and sulfur. Additionally, it is ideal for horses that depend on a balanced management and diet for their development.

HeparKPU forte can generally be combined with other products; however, it is important to consider the overall composition of the diet. The legal framework allows a maximum dosage of 12,000 mg of zinc per kilogram in supplement feeds, which has already been reached in HeparKPU forte. Therefore, the daily feeding amount of HeparKPU forte, as well as the overall composition of the ration, should be assessed to determine whether an additional zinc supplement is necessary.

HeparKPU forte was specifically developed to address an increased need for micronutrients such as vitamin B6, B12, zinc, and sulfur. However, it is not a mineral feed that provides a balanced ratio of macro and trace elements. Horses cover a large portion of their mineral requirements through their basic feed, which can vary depending on conditions. To prevent mineral deficiencies, all horses should regularly receive a high-quality mineral feed. The choice should be based on your horse’s individual needs, activity level, and forage quality.

The feeding of OKAPI HeparKPU forte is generally done as a supplement mixed with the horse’s regular feed.

How do I calculate the correct dosage for my horse?

To calculate the appropriate amount of OKAPI HeparKPU forte for your horse, follow these steps:

1. Determine your horse’s weight:
Your horse’s weight can be determined using scales, a weight tape or an app such as the BCI App from our partner Sanoanimal, available for free on Google Play and Apple Store).

2. Use the feeding recommendation as your starting point:
The general recommendation for OKAPI products is based on a 600 kg horse. Horses can receive 1-2 measuring scoops (1 scoop = 10g) once per day; ponies should receive about half this amount, depending on their size.

3. Adjust the amount to your horse’s weight:
For example, for a horse weighing 300 kg:
30 g ÷ 600 kg × 300 kg = 15 g per day

This calculation can be used to determine the appropriate amount for horses of different weights.

Due to a higher content of trace elements, this complementary feed should only be fed up to 1% of the recommended daily allowance.

- 1,800g sufficient for approximately 3–4 months
