Vague irregularities in the coat, the musculoskeletal system or the digestive tract – complaints that keep coming back and on which common feed supplements seem to work only temporarily.

More and more horses in stables across Europe are suffering from what you might aptly call ‘civilisation symptoms’. And the root cause is often not where you first look – but in the daily feed.

Why treating symptoms is not enough

When the body compensates – and eventually gives up.

What your horse eats every day determines how well its metabolism, organs and immune system function – not tomorrow, but over months and years. The equine body is a master at compensating: when the basic feed is not right, the metabolism finds workarounds. For a long time, nothing is visible from the outside.

Until the body’s compensatory capacity is exhausted. Then irregularities appear that at first glance seem to have nothing to do with nutrition. The symptoms vary widely from horse to horse – and that is precisely what makes the underlying cause so difficult to identify.

Various feed supplements can mask these irregularities in the short term. But they do not resolve the underlying cause – they merely shift the problem from one organ system to another.

What merely does no harm is not enough for us. Whatever goes in must earn its place.
