Product Description

OKAPI Junior Support is a complementary feed for young horses, specially developed to support nutritional intake during the growth phase. It provides high-quality essential amino acids such as lysine, methionine and threonine, which play an important role in protein metabolism.

Lecithins from sunflower oil complement the daily ration with valuable phospholipids. Diatomaceous earth provides silicon as part of the nutritional support for horses during growth.

The plants included, such as fennel, rosehip and meadowsweet, complement the feed with natural ingredients. Spirulina and leonardite complete the formula.

OKAPI Junior Support is suitable for all young horses that are still growing. This applies in particular to:

Foals from weaning onwards, to support them with amino acids and other nutrients as they begin eating independently.

Yearlings and young horses up to around six years of age, while building muscle, bone, tendons and ligaments.

Young horses in training, to help provide balanced nutritional support during periods of increased demand.

Horses with increased nutritional requirements during growth, for example larger breeds or horses that need targeted nutritional support.

In addition, OKAPI Junior Support can also be fed to growing ponies in an adjusted dosage.

Yes, OKAPI Junior Support can easily be combined with other OKAPI products to complement the daily ration.

Feeding recommendations

OKAPI Junior Support was specially developed to complement the daily ration during the growth phase. It can be fed from weaning until the end of the growth period. Depending on breed and development, this is generally appropriate up to around six years of age.

During physical development and the early stages of training, OKAPI Junior Support helps provide a needs-based supply of high-quality amino acids and other carefully selected nutrients.

Once the growth phase has ended, feeding OKAPI Junior Support can be reduced gradually.

OKAPI Junior Support can simply be mixed into a handful of soaked hay cobs, mixed into feed, or sprinkled over slightly damp hay.

As some horses may find the taste unfamiliar at first, it is recommended to start with a small amount and increase this gradually until the recommended daily amount is reached.

How do I calculate the correct dosage for my horse?

To calculate the correct dosage of OKAPI Junior Support, the following steps can be followed:

Determine the horse’s weight:
The horse’s weight can be determined by weighing, measuring with a weight tape, or by using apps such as the BCI App from our partner Sanoanimal, available free of charge in the Google Play Store and Apple App Store.

Follow the feeding recommendation:
The general recommendation for OKAPI products is based on a horse weighing 600 kg. The recommended daily amount is 2 scoops per day (1 scoop = 15 g).

Adjust the dosage:
If the horse weighs 300 kg, for example, the dosage should be adjusted accordingly. The calculation is as follows:
daily dose (30 g) / 600 kg × horse’s weight (300 kg) = 15 g daily ration.

This calculation method makes it easy to determine the appropriate amount.
